A Kinder SL Daily Buzz?

SL Daily Buzz was created specifically in response to the antics over at inVd. Our sole mission was to provide an alternate space where people could comment about the terrible actions undertaken by the likes of Ammon Pera and Jason Feingold.

This of course has not stopped their 'gossip' postings. We realize that we cannot stop them from behaving this way. We don't hate the people behind the avatars but we dislike their actions. By abusing other avatars in SL by using their blog as a bully pulpit to attack, slander, discredit and harass other avatars is wrong.

If we were to post all of Ammon Pera's dirty laundry it would be justified, as he has done so to others. However, we certainly don't want to become just like them. We all have our opinions and views. But we do not use a 'publication' as a way to humiliate others.

We may be able to forgive the person, but not their actions. Especially since they continue to use inVd as a tool to hurt others by posting and leaving up mean posts and bashing comments available to anyone publicly.

In any case, moving forward, SL Daily Buzz will attempt to refrain from such behavior. This toxic and unhealthy behavior that happens at inVd has drawn a lot of negative feedback. Ammon Pera and Jason Feingold have completely destroyed their reputations. Any respect they used to have has ultimately made any hopes of their recovery from this impossible.

They have driven many good people from SL. SL is supposed to be fun. Don't let these types of avatars ruin your SL! It is best to stay far away from them. Do not share real life information with anyone. You never know what kind of person is on the other side of that screen.

We will continue to respond to, comment on and express our perspective of their shenanigans.

  1. Many of us initially tried to ignore Ammon and Jason when they started their attacks, but quickly learned that not hitting back in the form of our own blog postings did no good. The many authors of the counter InV blogs would like nothing more then to walk away from this activity. I imagine that many are even willing to let Ammon and Jason "declare victory" by getting their last hateful comments in.

But this is doing no good. Look at Ammon's announced "truce" and recent attacks against Gregster and Jordyn JC Carnell, two very nice individuals. And look at Jason's sociopathic and cruel grieving.

Unfortunately, this wont stop unless we too hit back. But you are right, we need to maintain some level of decency so we do not fall to their level.

  2. I have a proposal to make to end all of this and build a better community.

What if Sl Inworld Today, MidCourt (although JC has not really been that negative) and InV would agree to withdraw all the negative articles about people published in the past 12 months?

What if SL Daily Buzz, Ammon Who, and The Real Ammon Pera (Eddie's publication, but I thimk he pulled it down), agreed to stop publishing and close down access to all back issues?

Now, Jason Feingold will probably continue to grieve people in Second Life-- with his stalking, chat bugs, IM and other devices. However, if Ammon Pera would agree to this "peace settlement" it would be enough- we can't expect Jason to change his ways, and would need to deal with him separately.

But, if everyone were to agree to this, could you imagine what a better world it would be?

  3. inVd would never do that. We merely report about their unethical behavior. We do not expect them to change. They have already alienated most of the major players. We have a few more things in the works. Stay tuned!

  4. Actually Truth..

I almost wrote a post titled "I don't play *truce*" and was gonna say how I was not one to talk bad about people's character I only express my opinions about *behavior*.

That just saying "my bad" wouldn't make me take down what I felt were legitimate points to be made about what I consider (and many were agreeing) is bad *behavior*.

That erasing those points would be a form of endorsing that *behavior* (for them or someone else to repeat).

I hold out hope the behavior will change, (and remedies will happen - apologies, taking down character assassination, etc.) but I've heard a lot of stories that this is a variation on a long time pattern. So I am not expecting it.

Until then, I recommend reading this or one of the many other fine blogs covering these issues to find out what's going on behind the scenes.

    JC
